Answer to Question 1

Answer: Men are more likely than women to use tobacco products.
Native Americans report the highest use of tobacco use, followed by mixed race, Caucasians, African Americans, Hispanics, and Asian Americans.
People aged 18-25 report a higher rate of use than any other age group.
College educated people are less likely to use tobacco than those with less education.
Rates of smoking are higher in the South and Midwest than in the West and Northeast.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Initially, a social smoker may occasionally borrow a cigarette from friends, but soon find they turn to cigarettes more often, perhaps buying a pack a week, then two or three packs a week. Although they believe that they can quit whenever they want, many social smokers end up addicted and smoking for years.
