ClinicalTrials.gov was launched in February 2000; it lists 105,168 clinical trials in 174 countries. It is searchable by disease and locationfor example, cancer AND Los Angeles. In 2011, its pages were viewed 50 million times per month, with 65,000 daily visitors. ClinicalTrials.gov offers up-to-date information for locatingclinical trials for a wide range of diseases and conditions. A clinical trialis a research study in human volunteers to answerhealth questions. Interventional trials determine whether experimental treatments or new ways of using known therapies are safe and effective under controlled environments. Observational trials address health issues in large groups of people or populations in natural settings.

Problem lists are used to track both acute and chronic conditions.
