There are three types of boundaries. Convergent plate boundaries exist where two or more plates come togetherthese are also known as subduction zones when one plate overrides the other. Divergent plate boundaries exist where two or more plates are moving apart. Transform plate boundaries exist where two plates are sliding' past one-another.
