In order for peer-mediation to work, teachers must:
 
  a. instruct the students in the ways they are expected to act.
 
  b. teach Peer-mediators to do the work for the other students.
 
  c. realize peer mediation is for academic work only  it should not be for socialization skills.
 
  d. realize they must take over the peer mediation process to be sure the process works to meet the desired goals.

Today, parents, students, teachers, and administrators throughout the U.S. expect schools to educate as many students as possible in general education classes. This means teachers must:
 
  a. use effective classroom management strategies that work for all children.
 
  b. employ instructional and management strategies that work for the middle of the class; then, the co-teacher can work with students with special needs.
 
  c. find an excuse to remove the child with special needs, so he or she will not interfere with the learning of normal learners.
 
  d. depend upon the special education teacher to handle all aspects of the learner with special needs.
