When caregivers don't attend the initial orientation session, the teacher should
 
  a. send the caregivers the written information they missed and follow up with a phone call.
  b. ask the student to have the caregiver contact the teacher to set up an individual meeting.
  c. rely on the parents to contact the teacher when and if they have questions about their child's situation.
  d. let the principal know, as parent absence at orientation is often a red flag that problems will arise later.
