Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
The right-ventricular afterload is the resistance the right ventricle must overcome to eject blood and is estimated from calculations of pulmonary vascular resistance, which is expressed as mean pulmonary artery pressure (MPAP) minus mean left atrial pressure (MLAP) divided by cardiac output or pulmonary blood flow multiplied by a factor of 80.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
Cardiac output can be calculated by multiplying the heart rate by the stroke volume.
