A laryngeal mask airway is contraindicated for three reasons; there was evidence he had a full stomach, there was evidence of gastroesophageal reflux, and his lung compliance is decreased. This would require an endotracheal tube to support ventilation. There is no evidence that a dou-ble lumen endotracheal tube is necessary.
