Feedback:
Sickle cell disease occurs in about 1 of 5,000 Americans of African descent. Symptoms of crisis include severe and unpredictable pain in the extremities and abdomen, jaundice, skin irritation and ulceration, fever, dyspnea, cough, swelling of the hands and feet, and increased infections. Signs of leukemia include fevers, malaise, anorexia, fatigue, bone pain, bruising, and bleeding. Signs and symptoms of anemia relate to the loss of oxygen-carrying capacity, the severity of hypoxia, and the causative factors. Early signs of ITP may include bruises and low platelet counts, petechiae, headache, pain, and swelling, as well as any abnormal bleeding.
