Enzymes speed up chemical reactions in the body. Enzymes do not help in synthesizing protein, producing ribosomes, or bringing about cell division. Synthesizing proteins is the function of ribosomes; producing ribosomes is the function of the nucleolus; and cell division is brought about by the process of meiosis.
