Answer to Question 1

leg fully extended with the foot left in natural position

Rationale: The AP ankle will fully extend the leg and the foot should remain in a natural to only slightly dorsiflexed. The leg should not be rotated slightly medial or lateral; the medial and lateral malleoli should not be positioned to be parallel to one another.

Answer to Question 2

part of the secondary beam

Rationale: Scatter and leakage radiation comprise the secondary beam.
