Patients given general anesthesia or moderate sedation need maximum recovery time; therefore they are scheduled early in the day.

The ambulatory setting contains the following areas: PAT area, admitting area, changing rooms/lockers, preoperative holding area, ORs, PACU, and a waiting room.
