Answer to Question 1

Precocial neonates are born with their eyes and ears open, a full coat, and erupted teeth. They are active within hours of birth. Altricial neonates are born with their eyes and ears closed, have little to no hair coat, and are entirely dependent on the dam for survival.

Answer to Question 2

The skin of the tail will de-glove entirely, requiring surgical amputation of the tail.
