Answer to Question 1

B
The individual should become aware of community resources that can be accessed for ongoing
treatment, medication refills, and crisis intervention once she is released from the correctional
facility. Option A is insufficient in scope because the individual has no objection to taking lithium
when it is available. Option C is not directly related to the problem of medication availability.
Option D is not appropriate.

Answer to Question 2

C
Reorientation may seem like arguing to a client with cognitive deficit and increases the client's
anxiety. Validating, talking with the client about familiar, meaningful things and reminiscing, gives
meaning to existence both for the client and family members. Option C is the only option that
addresses an interactional strategy. Options A and D are reorientation strategies. Option B is
inadvisable because clients with dementia profit from contacts with interested individuals whether or
not they can name the individual.
