anxiety. Validating, talking with the client about familiar, meaningful things and reminiscing, gives
meaning to existence both for the client and family members. Option C is the only option that
addresses an interactional strategy. Options A and D are reorientation strategies. Option B is
inadvisable because clients with dementia profit from contacts with interested individuals whether or
not they can name the individual.
