effective in treating both positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Option A: This drug
often produces EPS. It is not effective in treating negative symptoms. Option B: Clozapine would
not be the drug of choice because of the danger of agranulocytosis. Option D: Fluoxetine is a
selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Tacrine is an anticholinesterase drug that works by increasing the concentration of acetylcholine at
the synapse. It is used to treat Alzheimer's disease. The other options do not reflect expected
outcomes of tacrine therapy.
