Answer to Question 1

ANS: 4
The psychological benefit of humor includes decrease of fears, anxiety, negative emotions, and stress and tension. 1. Humor may lessen, but will not entirely eradicate, negative emotions. 2. Humor is more likely to increase alertness. 3. The goal is to laugh with others, not at them.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 4
This response encourages the client to discuss and explore her options so that she can make a de-cision. Options 1 and 3 subtly suggest the nurse may not be in favor of the client seeking a di-vorce. Option 2 changes the focus from divorce to pregnancy termination.
