Answer to Question 1

You should left-align in most cases, with the exception of titles which should be centered for formatting convenience.

Answer to Question 2

a. Balance takes into account how equally spaced the document is from top to bottom and left to right.
b. Alignment shows how words should line up with each other on the page in order to provide structure and hierarchy.
c. Grouping takes into account how related or unrelated items should or should not be grouped together.
d. Design features should be consistent so that the document looks uniform.
e. Contrasting elements or concepts should be visually contrasting.
