Answer to Question 1

The common sampling techniques are nets, spot poisoning, boat shocking, and angling. Netting involves small
nets used to collect fish for examination. Spot poisoning involves killing the fish in a small area with a poison
that becomes nontoxic quickly as it loses concentration. Shocking involves using an electric current to stun or
kill the fish immediately around the boat. Angling, like it sounds, involves fishing with bait and hook to catch
fish for study.

Answer to Question 2

Vegetation growth can be controlled through watershed improvement, water level management, biological control,
and chemical control
