Answer to Question 1

An ideal water temperature for many fish is about 65F. The water temperature affects spawning. It also affects the
amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. The temperature also affects the growth rate for plankton which in turn
affects the feeding and growth rate of forage fish.

Answer to Question 2

Fishing regulations are determined by the amount of fish that need to be taken to maintain desirable conditions
for the remaining fish.
