Cultured dairy products require the action of certain types of bacteria. What
  ingredient in the butter recipe provided the bacteria? (Hint: You might read

The buttermilk provides the bacteria for the butt

Answer to Question 2

The butter should have a tart flavor, which is unlike regular butter. It tastes tart
because of the conversion of milk sugar to lactic acid.
