Answer to Question 1

1) The albumen (the white portion of the egg) surrounds the ovum, which is the
yolk or the yellow part of the egg.
2) The allantois serves as a place to store the waste generated by the embryo.
3) The chorion forms a type of respiratory system until these organs are developed
in the embryo.
4) The amnion is filled with the fluid that surrounds the embryo.



Answer to Question 2

The shell is composed mainly of calcium and protein and serves to protect the
embryo until the incubation process is complete and the chick hatches.
