Are beneficial insects like the honeybee and the butterfly immune to the
  pesticides that are used to kill harmful insects? What do you think would
  happen if there were no butterflies or honeybees?

Beneficial insects are not immune to pesticides. If no pollinating insects are
available, plants that depend on them for pollination would not be able to reproduce.



Answer to Question 2

Insect-pollinated plants are more efficient because the pollen they produce is
transferred directly to the female reproductive organs of neighboring plants.
However, wind-pollinated plants must produce great amounts of pollen so that,
statistically speaking, it is ensured that pollen grains are deposited on the female
reproductive structures. Most of the pollen produced by these plants will never
reach this final destination
