Answer to Question 1

Plastic coated slow-release fertilizers. The coating can be damaged
thereby releasing the fertilizer contents prematurely. This can cause a soluble salt
injury to the following crop.

Pot crops are leached by first applying a heavy watering followed a
couple hours later by a second heavy watering.
