Answer to Question 1

Footprinting is when you step on the grass and observe how long it takes to stand upright again. Turf with adequate water will recover quickly, but grass near the point of wilting will recover very slowly.

Answer to Question 2

The plant should be compact, with richly colored foliage, strong new growth, and a full crop of leaves. The stem should be strong enough to support the plant easily and not have weak or discolored areas. There should be no sign of pests or diseases.
