Biofeedback has been found to enhance relaxation in tense muscles, relieve tension headaches, reduce teeth grinding, reduce the pain of temporomandibular joint syndrome, and relieve backache. Temperature biofeedback is useful to train people to purposefully warm their hands, to lower blood pressure, and to prevent or relieve migraine headaches.
