Answer to Question 1

A
If the specimen is drawn just before the next dose of a medication, the blood sample would be a trough level. A peak level would be drawn halfway between doses. The other times of blood drawing would not be significant in determining peak or trough drug levels.

Answer to Question 2

A
Cross-sectional studies involve data collected at one specific measurement point. Longitudinal studies involve data collected over time, in a particular research sample. Retrospective studies involve reviewing existing data usually found in medical records or hospital charts. Prospective studies actively follow subjects over the period of the study and do not rely on data previously collected.

The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
