Answer to Question 1

A
Individualism has become the predominant cultural type in the United States. This is where individuals chose a more independent lifestyle and form. Dependence on the family and other related small groups for basic needs led to the development of a cultural form known as collectivism. Collectivism called for loyalty and reciprocity to the group. Relationships formed slowly, tended to be genetically linked, and were long-lasting. Conjugality and socialism are not cultural types.
