Answer to Question 1

C
One of telehealth's successes is reducing admissions in patients who have chronic illnesses. This could make a huge impact on a hospital's finances, especially in a rural area populated by a large number of older adults with chronic illnesses. The DON could collaborate with the administrator to create billable services to help make up for this shortfall.
Informing the administrator of research findings will not change the financial impact of a telehealth service.
Lobbying for third-party reimbursement is an excellent choice but would take too long to be the best action.
Writing grants would also be an excellent choice, but the grant process is arduous and takes too long to be the best option, plus it will not address the real concern of loss of income.

Answer to Question 2

C
Active listening is an active, not a passive, process and involves working to understand the words and the meanings behind what the patient is saying.
It does take some effort to develop this skill, but this is not the best explanation of the issue.
It is difficult for some people to use silence in conversation, but this is not the reason active listening can be tiring.
It is debatable whether more time is required to engage in active listening with patients.
