Answer to Question 1

A
Hydralazine can be safely used for blood pressure control during pregnancy, but isosorbide and nitroglycerin may affect fetal circulation and should be used with caution during pregnancy. Minoxidil, a pregnancy category C drug, is a vasodilator that is not generally used in the treat-ment of heart failure.

Answer to Question 2

A
Asking the patient what he or she wants to know before beginning teaching allows the nurse to establish what the patient already knows and to determine what concerns him or her the most. Giving information relevant to what the patient wants to know can increase the patient's interest, trust in the nurse, and motivation to learn. It also helps the nurse to start with more simple or known concepts and work toward what the patient does not know.
