Answer to Question 1

A, B, C
Five types of drugs are used to treat IBD: aminosalicylates, glucocorticoids, immunosuppressants, immunomodulators, and antibiotics such as metronidazole and ciprofloxacin. Opioid antidiarrheal drugs and sulfonamide antibiotics are not used for this purpose.

Answer to Question 2

C
ACE inhibitors increase the risk of hyperkalemia, and combining this drug with a potas-sium-sparing diuretic creates a significant risk of hyperkalemia. Furosemide and enalapril, an ACE inhibitor, would not be contraindicated in this patient. Amlodipine and spironolactone would not cause hyperkalemia. The combination of metoprolol, a beta blocker, and furosemide would not be contraindicated in this patient.
