Answer to Question 1

NO. THE SAMPLE OF 6,423 PEOPLE IS A CONVENIENCE SAMPLE, AND IS NOT A REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE OF THE POPULATION OF ALL TV WATCHERS.

Answer to Question 2

NO; THIS WAS AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY, NOT A CONTROLLED EXPERIMENT. OTHER FACTORS COULD EXPLAIN THE WEIGHT LOSS, SUCH AS A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE (PEOPLE WHO ARE HEALTH CONSCIOUS MAY BE MORE LIKELY TO TAKE VITAMINS).

Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.
