Answer to Question 1

They are direct reading. There is no need to interpret the scale. Digital meters can be obtained that will give accurate readings to three decimal places.

They have no moving parts and are less likely to fail or get out of calibration than analog meters.
They often have automatic scaling features.

Cryogenic freezers utilize both convection and/or conduction by exposing food to temperatures below 76oF in the presence of liquid nitrogen or liquid carbon dioxide refrigerants.
