What effect do you think the carriage feed/cross feed ratio would have on surface finish if the same feed setting is used for turning both the face and the outside diameter surfaces?
 
  A) It would be making threads per inch on the longitudinal and feeds on the facing surface
  B) The facing surface would be coarser and the outside diameter surface would be finer
