Answer to Question 1

There are many prototypes for obtaining energy from waves, but development has
not gone beyond the prototypes. The market has so far dictated that wave energy is not yet
commercially viable; however, there is great hope for the future.

Answer to Question 2

Not so. The exponential lifetime takes account of the growth in use with time,
whereas the static lifetime does not. Therefore, the lifetime is shorter for exponential growth
(see Table 10.3).
