Answer to Question 1

This appears to be the case. Human beings react in comfort terms to the radiative
properties of a room. A room surrounded by radiating walls seems warmer than one
warmed to the same temperature by other means.

Answer to Question 2

Ultraviolet radiation actually has a greater energy than that of visible light. The
problem is more that there is such a small amount of ultraviolet available.
