ANSWER: They are designated as needing improvement and are to receive special help from the district or state. Students at Title I schools that do not meet AYP standards are to receive supplemental services. If the school fails to meet AYP over time, its students are eligible to transfer to other schools in the district. Continued failure will result in corrective action or restructuring.

ANSWER: Magnet schools have specialized academic programs and personnel to attract students from throughout the school district. This brings together a wide variety of students and provides a mix of socioeconomic classes. It can also help increase pride in the community.
