poor attitude
unstable work record
bad references
lack of self-selling ability
lack of skill and experience
not really anxious to work
bad mouthing former employers
too demanding (wanting too much money or certain working conditions)
unable to be available for interviews or canceling out
poor appearance
lack of manners and personal courtesy
chewing gum, smoking, fidgeting
no attempt to establish rapport, not looking the interviewer in the eye
being interested only in the salary and benefits of the job
lack of confidence
being evasive
poor grammar, use of slang
not having any direction or goals

Answer to Question 2

The purpose of a letter of inquiry is to obtain information about possible job vacancies.
A letter of application is used to apply for a specific position that has been publicly advertised.
