Answer to Question 1

Pre-albumin is not a compound that will turn into albumin, but a protein that migrates ahead of albumin on electrophoresis of serum or plasma proteins. It is a protein rich in tryptophan. It has a two-day half life and decreases with protein malnutrition. If it is decreasing, other serum proteins are decreasing, such as serum albumin. It, with the immumoglobins and albumin, make up total protein.

Answer to Question 2

Using a high-fat, low-carbohydrate tube feeding as a with-meal or between-meal snack would not be an advantage. CJ's problem currently is not producing higher levels of CO2 from the foods he eats. He is not eating enough food and needs to increase his intake. A high-protein supplement that contains 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and agrinine would be my choice.
