Answer to Question 1

Considering elevated LFTs, PT off 2.5 secs, and Dx, it should be clear that Mr. N has a liver that cannot perform normally. This could contribute to the decrease in Hgb, Hct & Ser Alb. However, since Ser Alb is so low and Mr. N lost 22 lbs and is an alcoholic, malnutrition has to be a considered as a contributor also. The actual causes of Hgb and Hct being depressed are probably d/t liver disease and poor intake of iron and protein. MCV is probably elevated 2o to alcohol metabolism and poor intake of folic acid and B12.

Answer to Question 2

Exercise during which the energy needed is generated by the oxygen inspired. Aerobic exercise is required for sustained periods of hard work and vigorous athletic activity. The main fuel substrate for aerobic exercise is fat; therefore, the body's fat stores are decreased gradually.
