Calculate the amount of 2 kcal/cc feeding needed per bolus feeding, and the frequency of feedings necessary to equal the amount given in 24 hours as a continuous feeding at 50 cc/h. Plan to give the bolus feedings between 7 A.M. and 10 P.M. How much would you reduce each bolus feeding to equal a reduction in the continuous feeding from 50 cc/hr to 40 cc/hr?

50 cc/hr  24 hr = 1200cc = 1200/4 = 300 cc given 4 x/d  0700 1200 1700 2200

40 cc/hr  24 hr = 960 cc = 960/4 = 240 cc 4 x/d
