Answer to Question 1

The American Heart Association recommends an optimal blood pressure of less than 120/80 . BP is considered differently today and borderline does not mean the same as it used to. If someone's BP was in the borderline range, they would treat with diet; if it was over that, they would treat with medication. I am not sure that terminology is still used. Many physicians are now treating with ACE inhibitors with BPs slightly above what is now considered normal, especially with diabetics. KB's BP was 144/84 which is considered elevated and could cause KB harm with metabolic syndrome.

Answer to Question 2

Heme iron is the form in which iron is utilized in our bodies. It is the form found in blood; hence, it is not found in plants but in animals. It is already in the correct form for absorption and is absorbed better than iron found in plants. Fiber and excessive metals could also possibly interfere with the absorption.
