Answer to Question 1

D
In cirrhosis of the liver, liver cells are replaced by accumulations of fibrous connective tissue and fat. The cells die, so they do decrease in number, but do not increase in size. Liver tumors are caused by cancer, not cirrhosis. Cirrhosis does not cause breakdown of connective tissue.

Answer to Question 2

B
Feedback:
Chronic untreated GERD may cause reflux esophagitis, esophageal ulcers with bleeding, esophageal strictures, dysphagia, pulmonary disease, Barrett esophagus, and esophageal cancers.

Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
