Answer to Question 1

C
Dietary supplements are regulated by the FDA. Foods regulated by USDA include meat and poultry; CDC monitors outbreaks of foodborne illness; and EPA monitors water safety.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
EN requires at least a partially functioning intestine. It is contraindicated when the GI tract is nonfunctional as with paralytic ileus. PN costs more, medications cannot be put into the central line, and there is an increased risk for infections.
