Avoiding food promotes a poor nutritional intake resulting in numerous problems including a fatty liver and malnutrition, but does not prevent rapid transit of food into the intestines following a large meal. Foods high in simple carbohydrates also promote rapid transit and poor absorption of food in the intestines.
