Answer to Question 1

B, C, D
Feedback:
Individuals with diarrhea should try to drink at least one cup of liquid after each loose bowel movement as well as increase other fluid intake during the day. Eating foods with pectin tends to slow transit time and unless tolerance to lactose has been confirmed, limiting or avoiding milk may also be beneficial.

Answer to Question 2

D
The body needs protein because it provides amino acids, needed to make all the proteins in the body. Excess protein can be used to provide energy, but the body does not need it for this pur-pose because it can obtain energy from carbohydrate and fat. Protein is made up of peptides, strings of amino acids joined together, but these are only needed by the body because of the amino acids they supply. Protein does not supply fatty acids.
