Answer to Question 1

A
Antioxidants provide a way to preserve unsaturated fats without addition of hydrogen. Hydrogenation is used to stabilize and unsaturated fats. This process only adds hydrogen, not carbon, oxygen, or water.

Answer to Question 2

B
Feedback:
Calorie needs may range from 25 to 30 cal/kg for nonambulatory or sedentary adults to 35 cal/kg or more for hypermetabolic or severely stressed clients; protein needs range from 1.0 to 2.5 g/kg. First compute the weight in kg: 130 pounds / 2.2 kg = 59 kg. Now using the lower end of the range since this client is newly diagnosed and just starting treatment, compute the calorie and protein needs: (59 kg  25 cal/kg = 1475 cal) and (59 kg  1.0 g/kg = 59 g).
