The server's responsibility begins with verifying that the person ordering the alcohol beverage is of legal age. Also servers should always be conscious of taking good care of their guests and protecting them from the effects of alcohol misuse.

An Incident Report is a form used to record incidents that occurred in serving or denying service to customers. The Incident Report is used to record a description of any episodes that occur and is signed by the person reporting the incident, employee(s) involved, manager, and any witnesses. The report effectively documents irresponsible behavior and helps an establishment avoid a lawsuit. Figure 6.1 is an example of an Incident Report.
