Answer to Question 1

The amount of money has increased on food purchased away from home is because our disposable income has increased or our access to money has increased more than our disposable time. People have found that they can spend more time with people that they care about by eliminating the time spent in the kitchen preparing meals. We eat more food away from home and also purchase more pre-prepared items or partially prepared items to save time. Another reason for the amount of money spent on food away from home increasing is the number of things that we are trying to accomplish in a day or a week- many people have very full schedules that do not allow them the time to get everything done that they want to get done and so buying food away from home saves the preparation time.
