Answer to Question 1

Any answer to the first question is speculative. To some, the arguments for hiding
Nayirah's identity are plausible. Others doubt her credibility as well as the story
she told. Was it the difference between war and peace? We may never know.
Once Iraq invaded Kuwait, the war may have been inevitable. However, one
thing is certain: There will always be a cloud of suspicion over the circumstances
surrounding the decision to go to war.

Answer to Question 2

Again, it depends upon one's values and perspective. While it is true that Citizens
for a Free Kuwait represented a broad-based coalition of people, its financial
muscle came primarily from just one interest group, the ruling family. The
organization may have been grassroots in name and structure, but it certainly
wasn't in spirit and finances.
