Answer: People who meditated, compared to control groups, showed greater brain activation on the left prefrontal cortex both at rest and in response to positive and negative emotional stimuli. Regular meditators are more open to experiencing positive emotions and less reactive to negative emotions with the overall effect of decreasing their anxiety and improving immune function.
